TENNIS WORLD USA
LEGENDS |
It'd been an incredible record breaking deal for Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in the last edition of the International Premier Tennis League (IPTL). According to Indian media, they each earned Rs. 26 milion crores, which comes to around US$3.9 million, to play three ties in Asia, during the off-season.
They even earned more than what Indian hockey, badminton and wrestling players earned through the whole year. Even cricketers, who are big stars in India, didn't earn so much in an entire season!
Rafa played in Manila and New Delhi. In the latter, he beat Federer both in singles and doubles. Beyond New Delhi, Roger played in Dubai and Singapore too, winning only one match in the six matches played.
In 2014, in the first edition of the tournament, Nadal had to play, but withdrew refusing US$3 milion.
The Spaniard has already confirmed that he will play the event this year too, while Federer's participation is unsure.
